I Feel The Need, The Need For Speed

My name is Steven. Although depending on the friends I am with at the time I could also be called 'Perry' but explaining that one would involve a rather boring story so I shan't bother.

I graduated from the fine educational establishment that is the University of Salford with a degree in Leisure Management. Not sure why I chose that particular degree but a degree is a degree and if anything at least it pads out the CV a bit.

I currently work for a transport company ensuring that people get their beer deliveries, so I am an addition to that statistic of graduates doing jobs that have nothing to do with their degrees whatsoever, although I could argue that drinking is a part of leisure and I manage people getting their 'leisure', but that would be pompous of me so I won't.

Oscar Betting Results

So I watched the Oscars this morning, at the sensible time of 09:00 thanks to Sky Plus, no way I’m staying up from 01:00-05:00 to watch it live and not be able to skip the adverts.

I was right for all but one as I did think the academy may have seen some sense and at least honoured Avater for being best film seeing as it has taken over $2.5 billion and is pretty damn good but obviously seeing as they gave the Best Director to Kathryn Bigelow they had to follow suit with saying it was also the Best Film.

Seeing as I am the last of the big spenders when it comes to betting I put £5 in to a new online account with Ladbrokes and put £1 on Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress. Of that £5 I am down to £4.72, with a whopping loss of 28p on my first proper bet.

Seeing as I don’t really understand how to get the money back in to my account from the site I decided to place a couple more bets on the football tonight. Sticking to my normal tactic I’ve now got a £1 bet on Wigan to beat Liverpool, and also have a £1 bet on Liverpool beating Wigan.

If Wigan manage to pull off a shock and win then I will be in profit of about £3.72 from my initial £5, if Liverpool win as they should do then I will have lost a grand total of about 68p from my initial £5 deposit, so here’s hoping.

Think I am going to try and see how long I can make the initial £5 deposit last with my stupidly unrisky bets and see if I can make myself a millionaire sometime soon, may take a while though with my betting strategy but I’ve surely got better odds doing it this way than trying to win the lottery.
